Concept
The wall at the entrance is a central welcoming point. It was very important for the new design to have it welcome all visitors to the school. The abstract tree, representing the “FOREST”, which is a theme of the Märkerwald (market forest) elementary school was implemented with all pupils of the school. The pupils began to paint the design of the tree and to define the surfaces of the mosaics. Also an inspection of the school with the students of the extracurricular art group, was part of the project. Together, further mosaic surfaces in the form of leaves or layers of earth, which resumed the theme of forest, were developed and realised. Every student, teacher and other staff members have participated with adding a stone.
